The UC Berkeley History-Social Science Project (UCBHSSP) is committed to increasing academic achievement by strengthening history content knowledge, academic literacy, and critical thinking skills of all students. UCBHSSP's work with teachers is informed by current scholarship, engages communities of teachers, and fosters collaboration between K-12 teachers and the university.
The UCBHSSP is a member site of the California History-Social Science Project, one of the California Subject Matter Projects. Our approach provides intensive, discipline-specific professional development programs designed to enhance teacher content knowledge, develop leadership capacity, and expand classroom teaching techniques, thereby improving student learning. To learn more about the effectiveness of our extended partnerships, read SRI International's evaluation results.
The UCBHSSP is excited to announce the appointment of Dr. Rachel B. Reinhard as our new site director. Click here to read a brief biography about Rachel. We look forward to welcoming her on January 7, 2013.
