A UCBHSSP Un-Conference (Institute Follow Up)

UCBHSSP invites Bay Area educators to participate in an "un-conference." This participate-driven event will allow teachers to share and learn from one another with regard to how they are approaching history instruction at this historical moment - What does this moment demand of us as history teachers? The day will open with a talk by Joanne Tien, a graduate student in Education, completing research on the nexus of social justice and constructivist approaches to learning.

We invite participants from our Making History and Ethnic Studies Institutes, held during the summer of 2018, to reconvene and discuss how they have shifted their instruction this year. And, we invite the broader UCBHSSP community to attend, engage in conversation with our summer institute attendees, and invite new conversations. We hope the opeing talk with provide important fodder for our later sessions.
