Teacher Led Framework Implementation

Secondary history teachers in the San Jose Unified School District recently completed a three-year professional development program led by the UC Berkeley History-Social Science Project. When the new CA History-Social Studies was proposed at the end of the second year, the district formed a teacher Framework Advisory Committee to explore the new Framework and create exemplar materials.
Two of the advisory committee members, Priya Talreja and Diana Dean, presented at the 2017 California Council for the Social Studies conference. Their presentation demonstrates their process of aligning their courses with the Framework. Included in the slides are links to the various worksheets and other resources that the UCBHSSP provided to help scaffold the work.
