Scholar Talk and Lesson Share (Institute Follow Up)

Join the UCBHSSP community on April 23 for a scholar talk and lesson share.

Note the title of the talk has changed: Professor Stephanie Jones-Rogers, a scholar on American slavery, will present a talk on how we can use history to make sense of contemporary events. Her talk, "Where do Female Officers fit in the National Discussion of Police Brutality?" will engage her historical research on how white women helped police the boundaries of slavery in light of contemporary concerns about the relationship between police and the black community.

Following the lecture, teachers who participated in the 2015 summer institutes will share student work that emerged from the lessons they created. All are welcome to stay and participate in these structured lesson shares.

Lecture: 9:00-11:00

Lesson Share: 11:00-12:30

Please RSVP to let us know you will be joining us.
