Institute Follow Up/Fall Teacher Open House

This program will  include a scholar lecture on the Black Panther Party and the opportunity to explore the Oakland Museum of California's exhibit commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Black Panther Party. Teachers are invited to bring student work from lessons they developed during summer programming. Teachers who signed up for credit at 2016 summer institutes are required to bring student work to meet the requirements of course credit. Teachers who have not previously attended UCBHSSP programming, including those who are considering teaching as a profession, are invited to attend. UC Berkeley Professor Waldo Martin, who recently co-authored Black Against Empire: The History and Politics of the Black Panther Party, will speak to participants.
