Join Bay Area teachers in this workshop sponsored by the Santa Clara County Office of Education in partnership with the UC Berkeley History-Social Science Project. The session will help teachers explore and start LBGTQ History, with an emphasis on inquiry and student engagement.

Participate in this week-long institute to work collaboratively with other K-12 in rethinking our approach to history/social studies instruction with an emphasis on inquiry, literacy and contemporary connections.

Teaching Religions of Asia

In partnership with the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, the UCBHSSP will lead a week-long institute on using primary sources to teach about Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism.

Teaching about Religion in Public Schools

In partnership with the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, scholars and teacher leaders will discuss current issues and historical thinking strategies for teaching about religion using the recently adopted the California History Framework. Includes tour, lecture, materials, and a continental breakfast.
